Nerang River Crossing

by on 20th May 2020

Dunstans have successfully completed one of the largest Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) crossings to be constructed in Australia. The Nerang River Crossing is part of the Gold Coast’s Long Term Recycled Water Release project.  The Dunstans team installed a 1.2m diameter, 900m long HDPE pipeline 30m below the river bed in the basalt rock formation.

The construction site was located on the Gold Coast in a very visible location. There was great collaboration within the group when CEA provided some much needed JCB excavators and Centurion delivered excellent logistics solutions.

The crew and equipment are now on their way to the next project at Scotland Island NSW for Ausgrid.
