Booming industry drives JCB Backhoe demand
Robson Civil Projects has been operating for over 50 years with three generations of family running and working within the business. The business covers projects that range from civil construction, road works, mine development and rehabilitation, rail and more.
Stuart Garland, Asset Manager at Robson Civil Projects, says that buying a new backhoe offered greater flexibility to take on project opportunities as they arise. Robson Civil Projects has chosen a the 3CX JCB backhoe.
“Previously we would use sub-contractors but with NSW construction projects on the rise we decided it was time to buy our own backhoe,” Stuart says.
The 3CX is currently deployed on the Sydney Metro Railway Station project, where it is proving versatile, safe and comfortable for operators to use all day.
A lot of Stuart’s sub-contractors use JCB machines so he was well aware of the product and industry reputation.
“We hadn’t owned a backhoe previously but with business continuing to increase we started talking with JCB in December last year. The comfort and visibility that JCB backhoes offer made it a top choice for us right from the beginning. Plus there is the 3CX’s excellent value.
“We were looking at four different backhoes but the 3CX is what stood out the most. Visibility was a major deciding feature for us. The health and safety of our operators paramount. The 3CX was able to tick all of the boxes. It’s the best fit for the job and delivers a high performance too,” Stuart says.
Robson Civil Project employs around 200 people and Stuart says they will be looking to expand their JCB fleet as business continues to grow.
“The 3CX has excellent value for money. Between this machine and three or four sub-contractors on the go we’re in a good position. With the current market we may look to add another backhoe in the near future.”
